The Vineyard

Originating from a family of winemakers in Cravant, Bernard Baudry started his career as a wine consultant in a laboratory in Tours, working alongside Jacques PUISAIS, after having studied oenology in Beaune. After 5 years of gaining experience he decided to start up his own business in 1975 with 2 hectares of vines.

Matthieu, his son, studied winemaking in the regions of Mâcon and Bordeaux and after a year of work experience in Tasmania and California decided to join the family business in the year 2000.
More vines were planted in 1982, and today the surface area is of 30 hectares planted on various types of soils. Such diversity enables us to vinify the grapes from each plot of land separately, giving the wines the unique characteristics of each terroir.
It is with this objective in mind that a new cuvee was added to our range of wines in 2000: « Le Clos Guillot ». This magnificent hillside in Chinon offers very aromatic and well-structured wines despite the young age of the vines.
Our aim is for each of our wines to express the elegance, purity and full aromas of the Cabernet Franc, in perfect harmony with each of our terroirs.
